Botanical Gardens and Butterflies - Florida
If you are traveling through southeast Florida, Butterfly World is a great place to stop and rest for a while. It is located at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, Florida.
We were headed to the Keys and stopped here per request of my flower/butterfly loving mother. (We live on a farm in Arkansas and her yard looks like a tropical paradise! Lol)
It’s a beautiful butterfly park with over 20,000 butterflies from around the world.
It was a little overwhelming when we first opened the door to the aviary and were greeted by hundreds of fluttering beauties! Some of them landing on you immediately! You will get used to it as you walk around the place.
Thousands of butterflies from up to fifty species can be seen flying around the aviary at a time.
The butterflies were very active the day we were there, making it hard to get photos of them.
They also have bird aviaries and offer a Lorikeet Encounter.
We loved getting to feed the Lorikeets!
Well actually, I loved taking pictures of my daughter feeding them, she was actually freaked out! There were four on her at one time and they loved to nibble at her ears. She was a trooper though! :)
